sat . When a Town Grieves Together: Pearsall Honors Little Kaliyah with Love

Less than a week after Pearsall lost little Kaliyah, the town is responding the way it always has — with love, with presence, and with hearts that refuse to look away.
This is how communities heal. With shared meals. With open arms. With people showing up when words are no longer enough.
Kaliyah was only three years old when a tragic bathtub accident caused a traumatic brain injury. As her family waited and hoped at Christus Children’s Hospital in San Antonio, they asked their community — and strangers across the page — to pray for a miracle.

On January 12, that miracle came in a different form. Kaliyah gained her wings.
Now, friends, coworkers, and neighbors are honoring her short but beautiful life the way Pearsall knows best — together.
A benefit pozole sale is being held in Kaliyah’s memory to help her family with funeral and burial expenses. Every plate sold is more than a meal — it is an act of love, a reminder that this family does not grieve alone. Details for the benefit can be found in the photo.
Funeral services for Kaliyah will be held later this week, during a time that remains incredibly difficult for everyone who loved her.

Those who knew Kaliyah remember her as bright, sassy, and full of joy. Soft curls. A big smile. A laugh her family will carry with them forever.
As Pearsall gathers around this family, the message is clear: love does not end with loss — it shows up.
Please continue to keep Kaliyah’s family and friends in your heart and prayers. 🙏
