TST. MOMENT OF TRUTH: THE DECISION WEDNESDAY IS COMING!

Before anything else, we just want to say how thankful we are for all the different ways people are supporting us — for buying t-shirts, sharing posts, following Miller on YouTube, praying, reaching out, and walking alongside us in this season. Every bit of it helps us feel less alone, and we are so deeply grateful.
Miller is doing okay. We’re taking things one day at a time.
He is still having quite a lot of symptoms related to anxiety, and at times that has led to panic attacks. We’re hopeful that we’re on the road to managing this better and helping Miller get to a more peaceful, steady place. Some of this may be related to so much change — the unknown, a new place, new people, new routines — and we are working closely with his team to piece all of that together in a way that works better for him.
His mental health is at the forefront of these conversations, because if he’s feeling overwhelmed or anxious, it makes everything else, even daily routine tasks, that much harder. We are continuing to work with the team to optimize therapy, medications, and whatever supports will help Miller most.
All of Miller’s lung transplant evaluations have now been completed. Now we wait. Next Wednesday, the medical review board will meet, and his pulmonologist will present his case. Everyone who has met and evaluated Miller will share their perspectives, and then they will vote on whether to list him for transplant. There is a lot of weight in that. I know Miller feels it, and I do too.
It’s been a difficult week at times, just the two of us here managing everything, but we are hanging in there as best we can. We’re grateful that Dad will be coming back soon, and in the meantime we keep putting one foot in front of the other. We’re continuing to make our space as cozy and comforting as possible and holding on to hope.
This is hard. There’s no way around that. But we know that this won’t be forever, and we will #keepgoing
