Mighty Miller Update 12•29•25
I just wanted to update you all quickly.
As far as Miller’s goals for last week, he absolutely crushed them. He is officially off the CRT (24/7 dialysis) machine, and his numbers have continued to look good. He is still on a fluid restriction—which he is definitely not a fan of—but we’re making progress there too.
Because of how well his kidneys are doing, they were able to remove his vas catheter, and so far that transition has gone smoothly. That alone feels like such a big win.
The next goals for Miller will be to continue weaning off some of his breathing support so he can get to a place where leaving the ICU is possible. Part of that process also includes slowly backing off some of the sedation medications that have helped keep him calm and comfortable through all of this.
We continue to see small but meaningful improvements day by day. Miller is working so hard, showing incredible strength and resilience. While we know there is still a road ahead, this past week brought much-needed encouragement.
His team has stared discussing what next steps look like. The waiting and not knowing is quite cumbersome but we are holding onto hope.
