A 12-year-old boy was beaten so badly at school, he had to be airlifted to the hospital.
Garrett’s mom says it was planned.
She reached out to me in tears.
Elementary kids reportedly stood watch while one student attacked her son in a restroom.
Garrett made it back to class.
Injured. Swollen. Limping.
She says he was given an ice pack and sent back.
No call home. Hours later, everything spiraled.
He started vomiting. He could not recognize his own mom.
She called 911. Garrett was airlifted.
Doctors found a severe concussion. A fractured orbital bone. Internal injuries so serious he was urinating blood.
For a time, he lost vision in his right eye. And it did not stop there.
Since that day, his mom says Garrett has been hospitalized multiple times.
Seizures. Aspiration pneumonia. Respiratory failure.
His mom says Garrett did not fight back. Not because he could not. Because he believed everyone was his friend.
