STT. Maddison, 13, with Autism, Brutally Attacked by Classmates: Why Didn’t the School Intervene?

13-Year-Old Girl with Autism Brutally Attacked by Classmates at San Antonio High School: Family Seeks Justice

A heartbreaking incident occurred at Sul Ross High School in San Antonio, where 13-year-old Maddison, a student with autism, was surrounded and brutally attacked by her classmates.
This attack not only left Maddison with physical wounds but also caused her lasting emotional pain.
According to Maddison’s mother, the incident occurred after months of bullying that she had repeatedly warned school administrators about.

Maddison’s mother shared heartbreaking details about the attack, captured on video provided by the police.
The video shows a student approaching Maddison from behind, grabbing her hair, pushing her to the concrete floor and dragging her for more than ten meters, while other classmates kick her in the head, neck, back and face.
This brutal attack was not only a serious breach of Maddison’s safety but also a clear indication of the school’s negligence in allowing the situation to escalate.
Doctors confirmed Maddison suffered a concussion from the blow, but the psychological damage could last a lifetime.

Following the attack, two students were charged with assault.
However, Maddison’s mother remained very worried and angry, questioning why this could have happened in the first place.
She revealed that throughout the school year, she had submitted more than a dozen reports to school administrators about her daughter being bullied.
Despite clear warnings, the school did nothing to intervene or stop the bullying that Maddison endured daily.

Maddison, a young girl already struggling with autism, now faces an even greater challenge—emotional pain and a loss of faith in her protectors.
The entire Maddison family could not accept this irresponsibility.
They not only want to find justice for Maddison but also call for a change in how schools protect students from violence and bullying.

Maddison is a special child.
She has her own difficulties and deserves more protection and love, but instead she has to endure abuse from her own classmates.
Maddison’s story is not only a wake-up call for Sul Ross High School but also a reminder to all of us of our responsibility to protect every child from violence, regardless of their background.
No child, no matter who they are, deserves to live in such fear and pain.

Maddison’s mother had only one wish: to ensure that no one, no child, ever had to endure such pain.
The silence cannot continue; the warnings cannot be ignored.
Only when every school, every family, and every community acts together can we create a safe environment for all students.

Maddison’s story is a call to all of us, especially parents, to stand up against bullying and protect our children from mental and physical harm.
We cannot allow our children to live in fear every time they step foot into school.
For Maddison, and for all other children, we will continue to speak out and fight to create a future where every child can live in peace and safety.

If Maddison is reading this, I want her to know that she is not alone.
You are stronger than you think, and you will overcome this pain, because you have a hidden strength within you that even your bullies cannot see.
Maddison, you will find the light at the end of the tunnel, and one day, you will smile brightly, not because of the cruelty that hurt you, but because you have overcome it all.

Maddison, you are an inspiration to those who are facing injustice, bullying, and cruelty.
I will always be strong and resilient.
The whole world stands with you, Maddison.
For you, and for all other children, we will continue to speak out and fight to create a future where every child can live in peace and safety.
