Orthopedic surgeons stopped by to explain today’s procedures. A small amount of muscle was removed from his left forearm, along with damaged tissue from his right thumb. Burned areas on his left upper arm, forearm, and wrist were carefully debrided as well. The good news: doctors say there wasn’t much tissue or muscle that needed to be removed — and overall, everything looked promising.

Even more hopeful news came next. If things continue to progress well, doctors believe that after the next round of irrigation and debridement — likely Thursday or Friday — they may be able to begin skin grafting.

Hunter’s ulnar pulse is being checked every hour with Doppler imaging, and it remains strong — a reassuring sign his circulation is holding steady.

Today was also made easier by a devoted ICU nurse who made sure Hunter was well cared for, comfortable, and supported. His pain has been much better controlled with IV Tylenol and Toradol, allowing him some much-needed peace. A few close friends were able to stop by, bringing familiar faces, encouragement, and smiles.

To everyone who started praying early this morning and kept Hunter in their thoughts throughout the day — thank you. Your prayers are being felt, and today brought a little more hope than yesterday.
