sat . JUST IN: Michelle Obama Was Supposed to Meet Rob Reiner Before His Sudden Death

Michelle Obama has revealed she had plans to see Rob and Michele Reiner the same day that the director and his wife were found dead in their California home.
The former first lady, 61, sat down on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Monday, Dec. 15, and noted she and former President Barack Obama knew the acclaimed filmmaker and his wife “for many, many years.”
“We were supposed to be seeing them that night, last night,” she shared. “And we got the news. Let me just say this: Unlike some people, Rob and Michele Reiner are some of the most decent, courageous people you ever want to know.”

The Los Angeles Police Department said Dec. 15 that an initial investigation determined that Nick Reiner, Rob and Michele Reiner’s 32-year-old son, “was responsible” for their deaths. He has been booked for murder, and the case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration on Tuesday, Dec. 16.Nick Reiner ‘booked for murder’ in Rob Reiner death, case heads to DANeed a news break? Without directly mentioning President Donald Trump, Obama also alluded to the president’s controversial post on Truth Social, where he slammed Reiner the day after he was killed.
Trump wrote on Dec. 15 that the “Princess Bride” director died “due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.” Reiner was an outspoken critic of Trump, but there has been no indication that politics played any role in his death.Late-night hosts react to Rob Reiner’s death, slam Trump’s ‘vile’ post
Trump later doubled down on his comments about Reiner amid widespread criticism. “I thought he was very bad for our country,” he said.
Obama told Kimmel that Rob and Michele Reiner were “not deranged or crazed,” in a clear response to Trump’s comments.
“What they have always been are passionate people in a time when there’s not a lot of courage going on,” she said. “They were the kind of people who were ready to put their actions behind what they cared about, and they cared about their family, and they cared about this country, and they cared about fairness and equity. That is the truth. I do know them.”

Kimmel also slammed Trump for “insulting someone who has just been murdered, who leaves children behind, without having any idea of what actually happened,” in his Dec. 15 monologue.
“It’s so hateful and vile, when I first saw it, I thought it was fake,” the comedian said. “My wife showed it to me this morning, and I was like, even for him, that seemed like too much. But nothing is ever too much for him.”
