Nick Shirley did not expect his phone to keep buzzing all day. But after his Minnesota daycare video went viral, that is exactly what happened. The 23-year-old content creator posted a video showing daycare centers that receive federal money but, he says, do not actually care for children.

The clip spread fast online and quickly turned into a heated debate. While filming, YouTuber Nick Shirley was stopped by a local man who accused him of racism. The man said Shirley was attacking the Somali community and putting them in danger. Shirley pushed back right away. He said his work was not about race or religion. He said it was about money and fraud.A short clip of this exchange was shared on X by Collin Rugg and gained wide attention.

Soon after, the issue reached national TV. Shirley appeared on Fox News and spoke about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and his past comments on race. As reactions grew stronger, Shirley promised that part two of his daycare investigation would be released soon.

During the video, the unidentified man accused Nick Shirley of harming the Somali community. He said the video was being used by hateful people online. He told Shirley, “This absolutely has to do with us being Muslim and us being from Africa.”

He also claimed online comments showed calls to remove Muslims from Minnesota and warned, “You are preparing for the Somali community to maybe be taken to concentration camps.

”Nick Shirley rejected that claim clearly. He responded, “This has nothing to do with race. This is fraud.” When accused of making the issue bigger than it is, Shirley repeated, “This is fraud. You are defending fraud.”After the video went viral, Shirley appeared on Fox News. He spoke about comments made by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Walz had earlier spoken about race and immigration and said, as quoted by Newsweek, “This is what happens when they scapegoat, and this is what happens when they no longer hide the idea of white supremacy.”On Fox News, Nick Shirley said Tim Walz was using race to avoid the real issue. He claimed the state allowed fraud to continue and said leaders were chasing votes. Shirley later posted a clip on his X account and wrote, “Calling people ‘white supremacist’, ‘racist’, ‘Nazi’, and ‘fascist’ used to work. It doesn’t work anymore.” He also confirmed that part two of his investigation is coming soon. Also Read: Nick Shirley Puts Tim Walz Under Fire After Minnesota Childcare Licensing Page Suddenly Goes Offline Amid Daycare Fraud Claim
