SO. Mom of 3 Boys Tries for a Girl. Instead, She Gets Pregnant with 3 Triplet Boys
Hannah A. and her fiancé Jacob are parents to three boys ages 11, 4 and 1

When Hannah A. learned she was pregnant, she and her partner, Jacob, were both excited and a little nervous. Already parents to three boys, ages 11, 4 and 1, Hannah had convinced her fiancé to have one more child, hopeful it might be a girl.
But as the anticipation of the gender loomed, at the first ultrasound at eight weeks, everything turned upside down.
“The tech looked at the screen and said, ‘Oh…’ I asked what she meant, and she told me there were two babies,” Hannah, 29, recalls to PEOPLE exclusively. “I thought, okay, twins, I can handle that. My mom had twins, and Jacob’s a twin, so I thought, We got this!”
But just as the Niagara Region, Ontario local began to process the information, she says the tech continued, “ ‘Don’t scream at what I’m about to tell you…’ and revealed a third baby.”
Upon hearing the news, Hannah says she was in “complete and utter shock.”
“That’s when the fear set in,” Hannah says. “Two is a lot, but THREE? That’s crazy! I didn’t know how Jacob would react either. I mean, four kids was going to be a lot, and now we were jumping to 6!!”
Following the news, Hannah says the ultrasound tech called Jacob, 34, into the room. She recalls how she could barely even look at him while the ultrasound tech told Jacob the news.
“He laughed and thought she was joking,” Hannah says. “When he realized we weren’t joking he was in shock.”
“We saw the three babies on the screen for the first time together,” she continues. “I started crying. He started laughing and didn’t stop for a few hours. I can only imagine how odd we looked to strangers coming out of the exam room. I’m crying, he’s laughing, holding the pictures, and the staff is congratulating us.”
Not much later, Hannah took to TikTok to share the story. Since then, the video’s gone viral, amassing over 5.8 million views and 4,400 comments.
Reading through the comments, she says many people have chimed in, sending good vibes and prayers for the health of her babies. She says she also received a few comments and messages from other triplet parents or those expecting triplets.
“We don’t know anyone in real life with triplets, so building an online community of support is really special,” Hannah says.

Hannah shares that when they could, the family celebrated with a sex reveal, only to be shocked when they learned all three babies are boys.
But the surprises didn’t stop there: during the reveal, Jacob also popped the question, asking Hannah to marry him. She later shared the big news on TikTok, where users flooded the comments with reactions:
“Hey at least you’ll have 6 daughter in laws 😅” one user wrote.
Someone else chimed in, “Lmao this made me laugh so hard coming from your other video. Some moms are meant to raise great men. Thank you for your service 🤣♥.”

For Hannah, she says the moment feels surreal.
“I hope that people get a smile and a laugh,” the mom says. “I mean, trying for one more and getting surprised with three is kind of funny! Definitely a ‘be careful what you wish for’ moment.”
“I also hope that maybe our story inspires people to stay positive even when life throws a curveball!” she adds. “Finding out we are expecting spontaneous triplets was never something we imagined. And we don’t for one minute think it’s going to be easy. It will be a huge adjustment, and it’ll be hard. But I believe everything happens for a reason, and these babies were meant for us.”
