SAT. Young Boy Injured in Ice Storm Accident Shows Encouraging Signs of Recovery

A little boy named Wesson, who was severely injured after being electrocuted by a downed power line behind his home during the recent ice storm, is showing hopeful signs of progress as he continues treatment in the same hospital as injured lineman Hunter Alexander.

Wesson’s family shared an update on February 4, saying the young boy had a good morning filled with simple joys — playing with toys, reading books, and watching cartoons. In true kid fashion, Wesson has already started plotting his “escape,” repeatedly asking his father one important question: “Where’s your truck?”

Despite the smiles, Wesson is still fighting a tough medical battle. He remains on a significant amount of oxygen as his body works overtime to heal from the electrical trauma, battle a virus, and clear fluid that remains in his lungs. Even so, doctors report that his vital signs have stayed strong — an encouraging sign amid a complex recovery.

The family expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support pouring in for both Wesson and Hunter.

“Thank you to all of our prayer warriors,” the family shared. “God is listening. We are beyond amazed and overwhelmed by the love and support.”

As both patients continue their journeys toward healing, loved ones are asking the community to keep Wesson and Hunter in their thoughts and prayers — reminders of the human cost behind severe weather and the quiet strength found in resilience and hope. 🙏
