SAT . UPDATE: Signs of Progress as Hunter’s Recovery Takes a Positive Turn

There was welcome relief in the ICU today as Hunter finally experienced improved pain control after receiving IV Tylenol and additional medications. For the first time in days, his discomfort eased enough to allow him some much-needed rest.

Orthopedic specialists met with the family to explain today’s procedures. Surgeons removed a small amount of damaged muscle from Hunter’s left forearm and tissue from his right thumb. Burned areas on his left upper arm, forearm, and wrist were also carefully debrided. Doctors shared encouraging news — only minimal tissue and muscle needed to be removed, and overall, everything looked good.
Looking ahead, the medical team says there is a strong possibility that after the next irrigation and debridement — expected Thursday or Friday — Hunter may be ready to begin the skin grafting process.
His ulnar pulse is being monitored hourly using Doppler imaging and remains strong, an important sign that circulation is holding steady. Thanks to attentive care from his ICU nurse, Hunter’s pain has been much better managed today with IV Tylenol and Toradol.
A few close friends were also able to visit, lifting his spirits and reminding him he’s not facing this fight alone. The family extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who began praying early this morning and continued throughout the day — your prayers and support mean more than words can express. 🙏
