SAT . Update: Hunter Alexander Prepares for Fifth Surgery as Pain Eases Slightly

Hunter Alexander made it through an okay night — a small but meaningful step forward in a long recovery.

His pain appeared to ease slightly overnight. While Trazodone 50 mg did little to help him sleep, doctors note there is room to adjust the dosage if needed. Any relief, even incremental, matters right now.

There is encouraging progress with his left arm wound vac, which is now pulling significantly less drainage — a positive sign as healing continues. Hunter is mentally ready to move forward, preparing for his fifth surgery as the process presses on.

One of his orthopedic doctors is expected to round later today. If all goes as planned, Hunter will be NPO after midnight, with surgery scheduled for the morning.

Tonight, he’ll watch the Super Bowl from his hospital bed — a reminder of how much life is still happening beyond these walls, and how determined he remains to get back to it.

His family asks for continued prayers — especially for lessened pain and for no further debridement to be needed during Monday’s surgery.

Through it all, Hunter keeps fighting.
