SAT . Update: GI Results Are In — A Long Day, A Little Laughter, and a Lot of Faith

The GI results are in — and even in the middle of pain, procedures, and uncertainty, Hunter somehow managed to find a moment to laugh today.
After hours of being confined to his hospital room, the boredom finally got the best of him. Determined to change his scenery, Hunter climbed into his chair, and with the help of an incredible nurse, was gently rolled to the doorway so he could socialize with the staff passing by — and stay closer to the bathroom. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to bring a smile and remind everyone that his spirit is still very much intact.
As the night settles in, Hunter is now NPO after midnight and scheduled to be the very first surgical case in the morning, unless an emergency trauma comes in. Tomorrow’s procedure — irrigation and debridement — is a critical step. The family is praying hard for no complications, so that the grafting process can finally begin and the next chapter of healing can move forward.
Today already brought some answered prayers. And as tomorrow approaches, the prayers continue — steady, hopeful, and unwavering.

Through it all, the outpouring of support has been overwhelming. Messages, calls, visits, prayers — every single one is felt. “Thank y’all for the love, the thoughts, and the prayers,” the family shared. “We truly could not get through this without you.”
One of the brightest moments of the day came when another one of Hunter’s lineman brothers, Michael Davis, along with his wife Dana, stopped by to visit. In a room that often feels heavy, their presence brought laughter, comfort, and a sense of brotherhood that only fellow linemen truly understand. The visit — and the thoughtful gift — meant the world. “You guys absolutely made his day,” the family said.
But today also carried a deeper, more emotional connection — one that reminded everyone just how fragile life can be.
A few days ago, many people heard about the heartbreaking story of a toddler who was electrocuted by a downed power line. What many didn’t know is that the child’s family is in the same hospital as Hunter. Through a longtime friend who had worked with the child’s father, Hunter’s family was able to get in touch and reach out.
Today, they found the family.

They learned that the little boy, Wesson Roark, is improving — a blessing — though, as anyone can imagine, he is still restless and continuing his long road to recovery. With kindness and grace, Wesson’s parents gave permission for their story to be shared.
So tonight, as prayers continue to surround Hunter, the family is asking for something more.
Please add Wesson Roark, and his parents David and Kaitlyn Roark, to your prayer lists.
Two families.
Two patients.
One hospital.
One shared battle for healing and hope.
In a place filled with pain and uncertainty, compassion has quietly woven these stories together — reminding us all that even in the darkest moments, faith, kindness, and human connection still shine through.
