SAT . RICKY SKAGGS AND KEITH WHITLEY — TWO PATHS, ONE UNFINISHED DREAM 🎶

In 1970, two 15-year-old boys from the mountains of eastern Kentucky — Ricky Skaggs and Keith Whitley — walked into an audition for Ralph Stanley. They played like music had been part of them since birth. They were hired on the spot.
For years, Ricky and Keith rode the same bus, stood on the same stage, and chased the same dream. They weren’t brothers by blood, but they were brothers in every way that mattered.
Then Nashville pulled them in different directions.
Ricky rose quickly to fame. Keith, meanwhile, drifted into the shadows of the bottle. His talent never faded — but his life slowly did.
On May 9, 1989, Keith Whitley passed away at just 33 years old. One of the purest voices in country music fell silent — before the world truly had the chance to hear it all.
Ricky Skaggs never stopped saying his name. Because some duos never really break up… one just has to keep singing alone.
