It’s been two months since we last checked in on Mavryck — and this time, the update feels like finally taking a deep breath after holding one for far too long.

Day 100 post–bone marrow transplant.
A milestone his family once prayed they would even live to see.

Mavryck is just 6 years old, fighting cerebral adrenoleukodystrophy (cALD) — a rare and devastating brain disease that slowly steals a child’s ability to move, speak, and see.

Back in October, his parents watched in sheer terror as his body suddenly froze. His eyes locked to one side for nearly two agonizing hours while doctors rushed in. They prayed over him. Whispered his name. Begged him to stay.

And somehow — he did.

What followed was nothing short of extraordinary.

Mavryck became the first child at his hospital to receive a bone marrow transplant for cALD. And his donor wasn’t a stranger — it was his big sister, 8-year-old VeraLee.
A sister stepping forward to help save her brother’s life.

Now, 100 days later, there is hope written in the small details.
His lab results have remained steady.
His hair is growing back.
And for the first time, doctors cleared him to go home for a few days.

The best part?

They spent that time together — driving, laughing, simply being a family again.

After everything they’ve endured, that ordinary moment felt extraordinary.

If you have a moment, please leave Mavryck and his family a holiday message. A word of encouragement. A reminder that their fight has been seen, prayed over, and carried by so many.

They’ve been through more than most ever will.
And today, this milestone is worth celebrating. 💙
