SAT . “I Am Terrified”: Baby Jax Put Back on a Vent as His Mom Begs for Prayers

Those are the haunting words from a mother whose baby so many have been praying for — and her latest update carries a fear no parent should ever have to face.

Just after 4 a.m., baby Jax became sick and vomited. Doctors believe he may have aspirated into his lungs — a serious complication for any child, but especially for one whose heart has already stopped once.

This is the same little warrior at Children’s Medical Center Dallas whose tiny body has endured open-heart surgery, ECMO, and 37 agonizing minutes of doctors fighting to bring him back to life.

Now, Jax is facing another critical stretch.

He is scheduled for a heart MRI and will then be taken directly to the cath lab. Doctors have made the difficult decision to place him back on the ventilator — words that send his mother right back into the trauma she’s been trying to survive.

Anesthesia for cardiac babies is never routine.
A cath procedure carries real risk.

Doctors are working to correct issues affecting Jax’s heart function, fluid overload, and dangerously low oxygen levels. But in this moment, his mom isn’t thinking like a medical team.

She’s thinking like a mother.

And she is scared.

“Pray his lungs stay clear,” she asked.
“Pray the ventilator is only temporary.
Pray anesthesia is smooth.
Pray they can fix exactly what needs fixing.
Pray his heart gets stronger.
Pray for peace over him — and over me.”

Tonight, we stand once again with baby Jax.

Please drop a prayer for his heart, his lungs, and for a terrified mama who needs to know she is not alone in this moment. 💛
