SAT,. HIT AND LEFT FOR DEAD: A 52-DAY FIGHT FOR LIFE AND A FAMILY’S DEMAND FOR JUSTICE

He was simply doing his job on the side of the road… when a speeding car came out of nowhere, struck him, and left him there in the dark.
Fifty-two days later, 24-year-old Julian Ramirez is still lying in a hospital bed, fighting for his life after that devastating night.
Julian, a tow truck driver, had stopped to help someone on the Southwest side of San Antonio. What should have been a routine act of service turned into a nightmare. Witnesses say they saw a car speed in, hit him with force, and then flee the scene—leaving him critically injured on the road.
Bystanders quickly called 911. To his mother, they are nothing short of angels—because without them, Julian might not have survived.
What he has endured since then is almost unimaginable.
A severe brain injury. Multiple broken bones. A leg amputation that, due to complications, became a second amputation on the same limb. Ongoing medical issues that doctors are still working tirelessly to manage.
This is not a quick recovery. This is a lifelong battle.
And yet, even in the darkest moments, there are small signs of hope.
His mother shared that they were finally able to move him closer to a window. He is making small steps forward. For their family, that is what hope looks like right now.
But alongside that hope is overwhelming pain and emotion.
“I’m angry, I’m hurt, scared, lost, and frustrated,” she said.
And she refuses to stay silent.
“This is my son’s story, and I won’t stop sharing it until we get him justice.”
Police say they are still searching for a vehicle believed to be a light-colored or white sedan. Someone out there knows something.
At home, six children are waiting for their father to come back.
Please share his story.
Lift this family up.
Help bring justice to Julian Ramirez.
