SAT . Faith, Medicine, and a Miracle in the Making: Hunter Alexander’s Road Back
Hunter Alexander’s father truly believes God has touched his son.
It’s the only way he can explain what he’s witnessing now — arms and hands that once hung in the balance are slowly healing, defying the fear that once filled every hospital room.
He is the first to give credit where it’s due: the surgeons, nurses, therapists, and trauma team who worked relentlessly to save Hunter’s life. Their skill. Their steady hands. Their refusal to give up when the odds were terrifyingly uncertain.
But deep in his heart, he believes something higher carried his boy through.
Just two weeks ago, the 24-year-old lineman lay on a ventilator after a near-electrocution that could have taken his life. Severe swelling. Endless unknowns. The very real possibility that he could lose the use of his arms forever.
Today, the picture looks different.
Hunter is now waiting on hospital approval for a home wound vac — the final step before he can be discharged. Maybe even today.
Occupational therapy has fitted him with a new splint to properly position his left wrist. He’s transitioning to oral antibiotics. His pain medications are being carefully adjusted to prepare him for life outside the ICU.
That’s how close he is.
There is still a long road ahead. Surgery number six is scheduled for next week, and skin grafting is likely. Recovery won’t be quick or easy. But the rebuilding phase has begun.
Looking back at photos taken just days ago, Hunter’s father described the progress as “miraculous.”
Prayers heard. Prayers answered.
Was it medicine alone — or was something greater guiding every step?
As Hunter prepares to leave the ICU and move closer to home, his family invites you to leave him a message of encouragement — something he can read as he adjusts to a new chapter, one filled with healing, hope, and the unwavering belief that he was never alone.
