sat . BREAKING: “UNHINGED”: Trump Rants About War and Blockade, Declares Venezuela’s Oil Belongs to the U.S.

Donald Trump just posted one of the most dangerous messages of his presidency — and it reads less like diplomacy and more like a ransom note written in ALL CAPS. And he couldn’t even wait for his mysterious prime time address to the nation that he scheduled for Wednesday evening.
In a jaw-dropping Truth Social rant, Trump claimed Venezuela is now “completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled in the History of South America,” boasting that the “shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before.” Why? Because Trump insists Venezuela must “return to the United States of America all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us.”
Stole from us?
Venezuela’s oil fields are suddenly American property now, according to Trump — a declaration so reckless it sounds ripped from the 19th-century playbook of imperial conquest. He accused the Maduro government of using “stolen Oil Fields” to fund “Drug Terrorism, Human Trafficking, Murder, and Kidnapping,” then announced he has designated Venezuela a FOREIGN TERRORIST ORGANIZATION and ordered a “TOTAL AND COMPLETE BLOCKADE” of oil tankers going in and out of the country.
That’s not bluster. A blockade is an act of war.
Trump didn’t stop there. He bragged that migrants allegedly sent by Venezuela during the “weak and inept Biden Administration” are being “returned… at a rapid pace,” before declaring that the U.S. will not allow a “Hostile Regime” to take “our Oil, Land, or any other Assets,” which he demands be returned “IMMEDIATELY.”
This is not how international law works — and it’s certainly not how reality works.
What Trump just outlined is economic warfare, collective punishment, and a claim of ownership over another sovereign nation’s resources — all announced casually on social media, with zero mention of Congress, allies, or consequences.
Markets panic when presidents sneeze. Trump is threatening naval blockades.
Even more chilling is how casually he frames it: no evidence, no process, no restraint — just power, force, and entitlement. The language isn’t about protecting Americans; it’s about domination. Oil. Assets. “Ours.” Returned “immediately.”
This is the same man who promised “peace through strength,” now openly flirting with a regional war while demanding tribute like a strongman from a bygone empire.
Trump didn’t just escalate tensions with Venezuela. He lit a match and tossed it into the hemisphere — then signed off with, “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
America should be paying very close attention. And Congress should remind Trump that he has no power to unilaterally start a war without their consent.
