SAT . BREAKING SHOCK: Epstein Files Sponsor Blasts DOJ’s ‘Half-Baked’ Dump — IMPEACHMENT Threat Looms

he long-promised release of the Jeffrey Epstein files just hit a wall — and the lawmaker who helped force it into existence is furious.
Rep. Ro Khanna, the Democratic co-author of the bipartisan law requiring the Justice Department to release all unclassified Epstein records, says the DOJ flat-out failed to comply. After Friday’s highly anticipated document dump, Khanna didn’t mince words: he’s “disappointed,” and he says the department clearly did not meet the legal standard.
“The law requires all unclassified documents related to Epstein to be released,” Khanna said. “It’s obvious they have not met that standard.”
While DOJ officials rushed to tout a new online “Epstein Library,” critics quickly noted the problem: much of what was released was already public — court filings, old FOIA documents, and previously disclosed records repackaged as transparency. Yes, there were some new files. But the full accounting Congress demanded? Still missing.
Now Khanna says the gloves are off. Working alongside GOP Rep. Thomas Massie, he’s openly considering inherent contempt, criminal referrals, lawsuits, and even impeachment if DOJ continues to slow-walk compliance.
That’s a stunning escalation — and a flashing red warning that patience on Capitol Hill has run out.
The Epstein case has always raised uncomfortable questions about power, protection, and accountability. Congress ordered sunlight. Instead, DOJ delivered a remix — and lawmakers aren’t buying it.
If the department keeps stonewalling, Khanna made clear what comes next: consequences.
