SAT . A Young Veteran’s New Battle: Cancer After the War 💔

She once served her country in a combat zone. Now, she’s fighting for her life.
Just one month after returning from a year-long combat deployment in Africa, 33-year-old veteran Lorraina Robles received devastating news: she had been diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer.

Since April 2025, her life has become a cycle of hospital rooms, treatments, and uncertainty. Her first round of chemotherapy failed, forcing doctors to begin a second, more aggressive treatment. The physical toll has been severe. Lorraina has lost her long hair, and on some days, loved ones say she struggles to stay fully aware because of the exhausting treatments.
But what hurts her family almost as much as the illness itself is something they never expected.
Because her diagnosis came after she separated from the military, the Department of Veterans Affairs has reportedly refused to cover her medical bills. The same woman who spent a year serving her country overseas is now facing cancer without the support she believed would be there.
Today, friends and family are sharing her story and organizing fundraisers to help her survive the toughest battle she has ever faced.
For Lorraina, the war didn’t end when she came home.
Please keep her in your prayers. And if you could speak to a young veteran fighting cancer after serving her country—what words of strength would you want her to hear today? 🙏
