sat . A NATION MOURNS: SIX U.S. SERVICE MEMBERS KILLED IN KUWAIT DRONE ATTACK

He was only 20 years old.
Now the family of Declan J. Coady is mourning a son who gave his life while serving his country — a young soldier remembered for his kindness, bright spirit, and the light he brought to everyone around him.
On March 1, 2026, Sgt. Coady was among six U.S. service members killed when a drone struck a command center in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait during Operation Epic Fury. The soldiers were part of the Army Reserve’s 103rd Sustainment Command in Des Moines, a logistics unit responsible for supplying troops overseas with food, equipment, and critical support.

Eighteen other service members were seriously injured in the attack.
The fallen heroes include:
🇺🇸 Cody A. Khork, 35 — Winter Haven, Florida
🇺🇸 Noah L. Tietjens, 42 — Bellevue, Nebraska
🇺🇸 Nicole M. Amor, 39 — White Bear Lake, Minnesota
🇺🇸 Declan J. Coady, 20 — West Des Moines, Iowa
🇺🇸 Jeffrey R. O’Brien, 45 — Iowa
🇺🇸 Robert M. Marzan, 54 — Sacramento, California
Six names.

Six lives of service.
Six families forever changed.
For Declan’s loved ones, the loss is almost impossible to comprehend. No parent ever expects to lose a child so suddenly. In the days since the tragedy, they have leaned on prayers, community, and the support of people across the country.
Behind every uniform is a story — a son, a daughter, a friend who stepped forward to serve.
And tonight, a nation pauses to remember them. 🇺🇸
