SAT . A Day of Grace Amid the Fight: Will Roberts Savors a Pain-Free Moment Outside the Hospital

We never know when our day will come — which is why every moment with the people we love matters.
For Will Roberts of Ralph, Alabama, the past few days have been anything but easy. As he continues his brave fight against bone cancer, Will has spent much of his time going in and out of the hospital, battling intense pain that no child should have to endure.
But this week brought a rare and precious gift.

Will’s mother, Brittney, shared uplifting news after Will was discharged from the hospital and was even able to catch the final moments of a church service — something that meant more to their family than words can express.
“What a gift this day has been,” Brittney wrote.
“Pain free.
A break out from the hospital.
Time outside, laughter with people we love, deer hunting, dominoes, and just being together.”
She shared that the day ended in worship and gratitude.

“And to top it all off, we made it to church to praise God and tell Him thank you for such a wonderful day.
We are so incredibly blessed.
We will praise You, God, on the good and bad days.”
Despite the joy of the moment, Brittney was clear that the fight is far from over.
“We need a miracle, and we won’t stop pleading for Will’s healing.”
She also shared a glimpse into Will’s spirit — one that remains bright even in the midst of hardship.
“When he’s feeling good, our door is open to anyone who wants to come visit with him.
Many would think it’s gloom and doom, but when Will is not in pain, it’s nothing short of a comedy sitcom here.
He loves being surrounded by his friends and family.”
The Roberts family’s journey has been an emotional rollercoaster — filled with fear, faith, setbacks, and moments of unexpected joy. This pain-free day, though brief, served as a powerful reminder of why they continue to hope, pray, and believe.
As Brittney closed her message simply and sincerely:
“Thank you all.”
Please continue to keep Will, Brittney, and Jason in your thoughts and prayers — and send them every ounce of strength, love, and encouragement you can.
