SAT . 💔 Severely Injured Dog Survives Critical Surgery After Wandering Into Good Samaritan’s Yard
A heartbreaking case that shocked animal lovers is now bringing a small but powerful sign of hope.
Late last night, rescuers shared the devastating story of a dog named Bass who wandered into the yard of a Good Samaritan with catastrophic injuries to his face. The damage was so severe that veterinarians believe it may have been caused by either a gunshot wound or a violent wildlife attack — possibly involving a bear.
When Bass was first discovered, the condition of his injuries stunned even experienced veterinary professionals. A large portion of tissue on his face had been destroyed, leaving bone exposed, and one of his eyes had been completely lost.
Today, however, there is an important update in Bass’s fight for survival.
Veterinarians worked through a complex and delicate surgery to stabilize the injured dog. During the procedure, the medical team carefully removed shattered bone fragments, surgically removed what remained of the severely damaged eye, and worked to close the devastating facial wound.
Despite the severity of his injuries, Bass made it through surgery.
