SAT . A Hurting Child, a Car Full of Faith, and a Prayer That Still Echoes”

When your baby boy is hurting, and you’re forced to leave a place he never wanted to walk away from, all you can do is drive home with tears in your eyes — praying God will please, somehow, stop the pain.

Just minutes from home, he softly said,
“Mom… I finally feel relaxed. Can we stop and get Rebel? Can we just drive around and listen to Christian music?”

So we did.

Before we knew it, the car was full — me, Jason, Will, Charlie, their friends, and both dogs — cruising down the road with Brandon Lake turned up loud. For a moment, the hospital disappeared. The fear faded. And peace, even if brief, filled the space where pain had been living.

God, please keep this pain away. Please let us walk into Sunday service with grateful hearts — where Will and Charlie will be baptized together on the same day. A moment we’ve prayed for. A moment filled with faith, hope, and promise.

Thank You, Lord, for the friends who came to surround Will and Charlie with love this weekend. And please — please — release every ounce of pain from Will’s body.

We are believing.
We are praying.
And we are holding onto hope.
