3S. A True Miracle: Lindsay Leskovac’s Inspiring Recovery Four Months After Horrific Crash

It’s been over four months since we first shared the shocking story of Lindsay Leskovac. The Pennsylvania teen fell asleep at the wheel, causing her car to plummet violently down a deep ravine.
Her injuries were staggering: two broken legs, two broken hips, a broken pelvis, a broken shoulder, and a broken toe. Immobilized and critical, her life may have been saved by one crucial piece of technology.
Lindsay’s mom, Laura, shared an incredibly kind and hopeful update. Her note reminds us that even in the midst of the toughest times, true Good News can always be found.
📱 Saved By the iPhone
“Her iPhone saved her life,” Laura confirms directly. Lindsay was far off-road, deep in a ravine, forcing first responders to use a 30-foot ladder just to reach and pull her up to the helicopter.
The 16-year-old spent over a month in the hospital as a critical polytrauma patient. The sheer list of broken bones included both femurs, her shoulder, wrist, pelvis, both hips, back, and neck.
Her nurses at Akron Children’s Hospital were absolutely amazing angels. Laura specifically thanked her favorite nurse, Iqra, for the exceptional care and support given during the toughest nights.
👑 Walking Through the Doors
Her recovery goal was clear and determined: to walk back into school. A few weeks after her junior year started, Lindsay was determined to get up from the wheelchair and walk through the front doors of Greenville High School.
And she did it. She amazed her teachers, friends, and the entire community with her sheer will and determination to walk again.
Pain and exhaustion soon forced her back into the chair, but her spirit was unbroken. Lindsay knew the chair wouldn’t be needed for much longer as she continued to push herself forward.
💪 A Life Reclaimed
Lindsay has been working incredibly hard at her physical therapy sessions. She was even able to attend her homecoming dance alongside her best friend, Titus, marking a major emotional milestone.
More recently, she marched in the town’s Christmas parade with her dance team, the Trojanettes. The community lined the streets to cheer her on, celebrating her powerful return.
She even made an appearance back on the football field during a state playoff game! These small victories showcase the monumental progress made since the horrific August accident.
🚧 Setbacks and Strength
The road has not been without serious setbacks. MRIs revealed that along with the breaks, she tore both of her PCLs and her ACL in her left leg—requiring more surgery.
She had another major surgery in November to remove hardware from her arm and wrist. She used the quick hospital visit to hug the nurses who helped her through those painful nights of “physical pain and mental anguish.”
Lindsay still wears a compression sleeve on her left arm from severe airbag burns. She also wears one on her leg from a deep wound and is still partially in a neck brace. More surgeries are already planned for the future.
🗣️ A Miracle to Share
Through it all, Lindsay’s attitude has been overwhelmingly positive. “She knows she is a miracle,” her mother affirms repeatedly.
She recently spoke on the town’s radio station (Pulse), spreading the news of her faith. Her message was clear: God saved her, and her iPhone’s “Crash Detection” feature called 911 immediately.
Her incredible story has now gone national. It was shared everywhere from Rick Karle’s Good News platform to People Magazine and Inside Edition.
Lindsay’s parents, Laura and Josh, are eternally thankful for all the support. “Our daughter has been right in the middle of a miracle since the accident happened,” Laura shared.
Lindsay’s simple, powerful mantra comes from the song ‘Middle of a Miracle.’ She stated simply, “God has been so good to me.”
This story is a crucial reminder of two things: the extreme danger of driving tired, and the life-saving potential of technology like the iPhone’s crash detection feature.
