SAT . Update on Hunter Alexander: A Good Day Filled with Visitors, Gifts, and Small Moments of Joy

After many difficult days in the hospital, today brought a welcome bright spot for Hunter Alexander.

Hunter had what his family described as a genuinely good day, lifted by the arrival of special visitors who made the trip to see him in person. Willis Davis and Elvis Phillips, representing the Caldwell chapter of Whitetails Unlimited, traveled from Columbia, Louisiana to deliver gifts that Hunter was supposed to receive at their recent banquet.

Because of his ongoing recovery, Hunter couldn’t attend the event himself. So the group brought the celebration to him — placing the gifts directly in his hands and sharing a few moments of encouragement at his bedside.

The visit meant more than words could say.

Meanwhile, the road to recovery continues step by step. Doctors have scheduled another wound dressing change for Hunter’s right hand and arm tomorrow morning, an important part of monitoring and protecting his healing injuries.

And in between the medical procedures, there was also time for one small but meaningful comfort: a chocolate milkshake from Griff’s — a simple treat that, according to his family, “can’t be beat.”

Hunter’s next surgery is still scheduled for Monday, marking another critical stage in his ongoing fight to recover.

For everyone following his journey, today served as a reminder that healing isn’t only about procedures and treatments. Sometimes it’s about visitors who show up, gifts delivered with kindness, and a milkshake that makes the day feel a little more normal.
