LDL. Oklahoma Girl Shows Courage in Battle Against Leukemia

Oklahoma City, OK – Four-and-a-half-year-old Callie Pittman is showing the kind of bravery that inspires everyone around her. Diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at just two-and-a-half years old, Callie has spent nearly two years battling the disease with determination, courage, and an infectious love for life.

Callie’s journey has been challenging. She followed her treatment regimen diligently, hoping to reach the maintenance phase of her therapy. But eight weeks ago, she faced heartbreaking news: her leukemia had relapsed. For her family, it was a devastating setback, yet Callie remained resolute, her spirit unbroken.

On December 23rd, Callie underwent a bone marrow transplant, a crucial step in her fight against cancer. Recent updates bring hopeful news: Callie is beginning to engraft, meaning the transplant is successfully taking hold. While she remains dependent on a feeding tube, her parents, Bailey and Jessica, are carefully introducing her to food again.

Yesterday marked a small but powerful victory. Callie ate a few spoonfuls of chocolate ice cream, her lips smacking with delight and a smile spreading across her face. For her parents, Bailey and Jessica, it was a moment that sent chills down their spines, a reminder of her resilience and love of life.

“Callie loves Princesses, Bluey, Stitch, scooters, and spaghetti,” Jessica shared. “She would eat spaghetti every day if she could!” The joy of seeing her enjoy even a small taste of ice cream is a milestone in her recovery, symbolizing progress in a journey defined by perseverance.

Callie’s family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support from friends, neighbors, and the broader community. “We celebrate every little step forward,” said Jessica. “Moments like this remind us that Callie is strong, and she’s not giving up.”

Supporters can contribute to Callie’s care through her GoFundMe page, helping her family during this critical period.

Callie Pittman’s fight is far from over, but with courage, love, and a few spoonfuls of chocolate ice cream, this little girl continues to inspire hope in everyone who knows her story.
