What should have been a season filled with lights, laughter, and first holiday memories became something very different for 16-month-old Lawson — lovingly called LB — and his family.
Just days before Christmas, Lawson was rushed to the hospital after contracting RSV, a serious respiratory virus that can be life-threatening for young children. As his condition worsened, breathing became a struggle, and doctors made the difficult decision to admit him for intensive care and monitoring.
For his parents, the hospital room replaced their home. The holidays were spent at his bedside, watching machines, listening to alarms, and holding onto hope during moments of fear no parent is ever prepared to face.
Adding to the strain, the family is navigating this crisis with one income and another child at home, creating overwhelming emotional and financial pressure.
