LDL. Hunter Takes Encouraging Steps Forward as He Prepares for His Fourth Surgery

Hunter’s day began not with dramatic breakthroughs, but with something just as meaningful — movement.

After days of rest and recovery, he was able to get up, walk through the hospital halls, and even make a small loop outside the front of the building. The simple act of walking marked a powerful step forward in his healing journey.

The visit from his linemen teammates lifted his spirits, reminding him that he is not walking this road alone. Their presence brought smiles and strength during a time when even small moments of connection matter deeply.

Earlier in the day, occupational therapy assessed Hunter’s fingers and introduced exercises to help restore strength and mobility. While progress will take time, these first steps are crucial in the long recovery process.

Due to injuries to his arms, dressings, and IV lines, medical staff must take Hunter’s blood pressure in his leg. His readings remain somewhat elevated, and doctors continue to monitor him closely. His central line was removed the night before, and he now has two heplocks in his right upper arm.

Dr. Chapman and the trauma surgery team visited and confirmed that everything remains on track from their perspective. Hunter is still scheduled for his fourth surgery on Thursday, though the exact time has not yet been determined.

For now, the primary medical focus is on restoring normal gastrointestinal function. A combination of limited mobility and pain medication has slowed his system, but the care team is actively working to address the issue.

Each small improvement is a reminder that healing is not always fast or easy — but it is possible. With the continued support of his medical team, friends, and family, Hunter is moving forward one step at a time.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Megan, whose compassionate nursing care has made a meaningful difference in Hunter’s recovery.

As Hunter continues this difficult journey, every prayer, message, and show of support carries him closer to healing.
