LDL. Family Asks for Prayers as Alabama Teen Faces New Surgeries in Cancer Battle

Ralph, Alabama — Fourteen-year-old Will Roberts is once again facing a difficult chapter in his fight against stage-four bone cancer, following a major surgery this week at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Will, who lost his lower left leg earlier this year as part of his cancer treatment, returned to surgery after doctors discovered the disease had spread to his pelvis and femur. What was initially expected to be a small procedure turned into an extensive operation. Surgeons made a long incision from hip to hip and down his thigh as they worked to remove and treat the cancer.

Will’s mother, Brittney, shared the emotional reality of watching her son endure yet another painful procedure. Tubes now run from his arms, neck, and nose as he recovers. The family is bracing for more challenges ahead, as Will is scheduled to return to the operating room later this week to attempt to freeze additional cancer spots if they remain stable.

The emotional toll has been just as heavy as the physical one. After leaving the hospital to return to the family’s temporary housing in Houston, Brittney described the heartbreak of seeing Will’s belongings sitting exactly where he left them — a reminder of how suddenly their lives have changed.

Despite the pain, Will remains a symbol of strength to everyone who knows him. His family says he continues to fight with courage and faith, holding on to hope even on the hardest days.

The Roberts family is asking for continued prayers as Will prepares for the next stage of his treatment. Supporters across Alabama and beyond are being encouraged to keep Will and his loved ones in their thoughts during this critical time.

For the Roberts family, every prayer and message of encouragement is a reminder that they are not walking this difficult road alone. 🙏
