LDL. Avery White: From Fragile Health to Growing Strength
It’s been four months since the last update on Avery White, the 20-year-old from Wetumpka, Alabama, who captured hearts with her courageous battle against severe health challenges.
At just 17, Avery was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Raynaud’s disease, and antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), which later progressed to catastrophic APS (CAPS). Last August, Avery underwent open heart surgery weighing only 77 pounds — a testament to her fragile health at the time.
Her aunt, Paige Smith, shared an uplifting update: “Avery is doing great. She’s not only walking, but she now weighs 98 pounds.” Paige adds that while the road to 100 percent recovery is still ahead, Avery is steadily regaining her strength and health after years of pain and struggle.
Avery’s journey is one of perseverance, hope, and the unwavering support of her family. Her progress is good news for a brave young woman and a loving family who has stood by her side every step of the way.
