The Roberts family is holding onto a moment of relief after receiving an important update on 14-year-old Will Roberts, who continues to fight bone cancer with courage far beyond his years.
On the drive home, the family received a call from Will’s oncologist — news that allowed them, at least for now, to breathe a little easier. Doctors confirmed that the tumor located on Will’s back is not currently jeopardizing his spinal cord. In the midst of so much uncertainty, this news felt like a small but powerful mercy.
“Knowing his spinal cord is safe right now changes everything,” the family shared. “It doesn’t remove the fear, but it gives us room to keep moving forward.”
While the tumor has begun causing Will pain, his medical team is already working quickly. The oncologist has reached out to radiology specialists to determine whether radiation therapy may be an option to help shrink the tumor and ease his discomfort. The family expects to receive a clearer treatment plan sometime next week.
