16-Year-Old Tyler Harper Shows Incredible Strength Against Osteosarcoma

Sixteen-year-old Tyler Harper shouldn’t have to be this tough, but every challenge has been met with courage and determination that inspires everyone around him. The youngest of three boys from his family, Tyler’s mom, Christine, describes him as gentle, big-hearted, “a little bit cowboy, a whole lot of soul.”

Before cancer, Tyler loved spending time outdoors, playing football and basketball, and living life to the fullest. Two years ago, Tyler was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, an aggressive bone cancer. Despite treatment after treatment, the disease has continued to test him. One tumor gets treated, another appears.

Earlier this year, surgeons performed breakthrough reconstructive surgery on his right leg to save it. By July, new tumors were discovered in both legs and his lungs. He began chemotherapy, and when his body grew too weak, immunotherapy was started. Eventually, doctors sent him home on hospice care, preparing his parents, Christine and Kevin, for the worst.

Four months later, Tyler is still here — still walking, still talking, and still carrying himself like the cowboy he loves to be. Not a single complaint escapes him. His faith, Christine says, “could lift mountains.”

Tyler’s family invites anyone who wishes to send encouragement, prayers, or love to reach out. This young cowboy needs all the support he can get. ❤️
