LDL. Mavryck Hits 100 Days After Life-Saving Bone Marrow Transplant
Mavryck, a 6-year-old battling cerebral adrenoleukodystrophy (cALD), has reached a major milestone: Day 100 post–bone marrow transplant.
This rare and devastating brain disease slowly robs children of movement, speech, and sight.
In October, Mavryck’s family endured a terrifying episode where his body froze and his eyes locked for two hours.
Thankfully, he pulled through, and just weeks later, he became the first child at his hospital to receive a bone marrow transplant for cALD, with his 8-year-old sister, VeraLee, as the donor — a sister saving her brother’s life.
Now, 100 days later, Mavryck’s labs are steady, his hair is growing back, and he’s been cleared to spend time at home with his family.
The day was filled with laughter, family time, and a much-needed sense of normalcy.
The family asks for continued prayers, encouragement, and love from the community as they celebrate this milestone and continue their journey. 💙
