LDL. Miller’s Family Shares Update on His Health and Lung Transplant Evaluation

The family of Miller, a young patient facing ongoing health challenges, has released a heartfelt update on his condition, emphasizing the importance of mental health, community support, and hope during a difficult time.

In a recent statement, the family expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support they’ve received. “Before anything else, we just want to say how thankful we are for all the different ways people are supporting us — for buying t-shirts, sharing posts, following Miller on YouTube, praying, reaching out, and walking alongside us in this season,” the statement read. “Every bit of it helps us feel less alone, and we are so deeply grateful.”

Miller is reportedly doing okay, with the family focusing on managing his care one day at a time. He continues to experience symptoms related to anxiety, which have sometimes led to panic attacks. The family noted that recent changes — including new routines, environments, and people — may contribute to his heightened anxiety. His care team is actively working to address these challenges through therapy, medications, and tailored support.

“Mental health is at the forefront of these conversations,” the family said. “If he’s feeling overwhelmed or anxious, it makes everything else, even daily routine tasks, that much harder. We are continuing to work with the team to optimize therapy, medications, and whatever supports will help Miller most.”

All of Miller’s lung transplant evaluations have now been completed, and a critical medical review board meeting is scheduled for next Wednesday. During the meeting, his pulmonologist will present his case, and the board will hear perspectives from all the doctors who have evaluated him before voting on whether to list him for transplant.

Despite the challenges, the family remains committed to maintaining hope. “This is hard. There’s no way around that. But we know that this won’t be forever, and we will keep going,” they said, adding their gratitude for the support of friends, family, and the wider community.

The family encouraged others to continue supporting Miller through prayer and positive messages, noting that every gesture helps sustain them during this uncertain time.
