Tiny but Mighty: Ada Reid Watts Continues Her NICU Journey
She was so tiny when she arrived that her parents lovingly nicknamed her their Elf On The Shelf.
Ada Reid Watts came into the world almost 15 weeks early, a miracle baby born to Justin and Jordan Watts of Stillwaters, Alabama, on October 9th, weighing just 1 lb, 5 oz. From the very beginning, Ada has shown a remarkable will to survive.
At 6 weeks old, Ada remains in the NICU at Children’s of Alabama. She has already undergone multiple surgeries, with an esophageal procedure still ahead. Despite her challenges, Ada has made incredible progress, now weighing 2.7 pounds — a major milestone for her tiny body.
Her parents eagerly await the day Ada can leave the incubator, to hug her, stroke her hair, and surround her with warmth and love. Soon, Ada will head home to her crib in Stillwaters, Alabama, where love and family await her every day.
While Jordan prepares to return to teaching and Justin back to work, their hearts remain fully with their little Elf On The Shelf, cheering on her every step of the way.
