I’ve been thinking about 14-year-old Will Roberts — bravely fighting bone cancer — and the family walking every step with him in faith and love.
Yesterday was supposed to be a joyful Sunday. Will and his sister Charlie were scheduled to be baptized. But before church, Will was hit with severe pain and rushed to Children’s of Alabama with his dad, Jason. Charlie went on to church and was baptized, while Will returned home later that night.
It was a day filled with mixed emotions — joy, exhaustion, hope, and heartache.
Late last night, Will asked for something simple: a car ride with his family, the dogs, and worship music playing. For 20 precious minutes, they praised, loved, and just were together. Even when the pain returned, those moments mattered.
As Will’s mom Brittney wrote:
“Tonight, that was enough.”
