LDL. Tyler Harper: From Fear to Relief, a True Survivor Spirit

There’s amazing news to share about 16-year-old Tyler Harper from Douglas, Georgia.
Tyler has been bravely battling bone cancer. Earlier this year, in early 2024, cutting-edge reconstructive surgery saved his right leg. But in July, doctors discovered new spots — on his other leg and in his lungs — causing his family immense worry.
Weeks ago, Tyler faced another frightening moment. A drain tube in his lung became infected, and a CT scan suggested a “wall of cancer” affecting his breathing. His family prepared for the worst.
But the very next day, after surgery, the doctor delivered a miracle: it wasn’t cancer at all — it was a treatable wall of infection. Tyler could be treated with antibiotics. Relief and joy replaced fear.
Tyler is now home. The drain tube has been removed, and while doctors are keeping an eye on a small spot in his lung, his family is celebrating a misread CT scan that turned into one of the best news ever.
Throughout it all, Tyler remains courageous. He sees every challenge as just another trial in life. “It will all work out,” he said. “Whether I’m here or in Heaven I win either way.” His pragmatic and brave approach to battling cancer is inspiring to everyone around him.
Tyler and his family would love to hear your encouragement and support. Please keep this remarkable young man in your prayers.
