LDL. Give It Up for Mavryck Dockins: A Powerful Update Filled with Hope

There is incredible news to share today — the kind that reminds us why faith, love, and family matter so deeply.
Mavryck Dockins, a brave 6-year-old boy from Mountain Home, Arkansas, has just received his latest MRI results, and they bring a wave of hope to everyone who has been praying for him. After months of uncertainty, doctors say his rare brain disease appears to be slowing down — and may even be nearly at a halt.
A few months ago, Mavryck was diagnosed with Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), a rare and inoperable brain disease that often progresses rapidly. Since then, his journey has been filled with hospital stays, treatments, and countless prayers from people around the world.
For weeks, Mavryck has been receiving treatment at Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. In an extraordinary turn of events, his body is now responding positively to bone marrow donated by his big sister, Veralee.
Last night, Mavryck’s mom, Nikki, shared what she called “the best Mav update yet.”
According to Nikki, Mavryck’s MRI shows that the disease no longer looks aggressive. Where there once appeared to be rapid progression — described as a “wildfire” in his brain — doctors now see less swelling, no new lesions, and overall improvement compared to his scan from September.
“Just that alone feels like such an answered prayer and such a miracle,” Nikki shared.
While doctors will continue to review the scans closely with neurology specialists, the family is holding tightly to the good news they have today. Mavryck will have another MRI in about three months to determine whether the progression has fully stopped.
Until then, the family is choosing hope.
Nikki expressed deep gratitude to everyone who has prayed, sent messages, and surrounded their family with love.
“We truly cannot express how grateful we are to each and every one of you in Mav’s Army,” she said, while also asking for continued prayers as they head into the next doctor’s appointment.
Mavryck’s story is one that touches the heart — a little boy facing a rare and devastating diagnosis, and a big sister whose love and bone marrow are helping save his life.
Let’s celebrate Mavryck.
Let’s honor Veralee.
And let’s keep believing in miracles.
