sat . BREAKING: Democrats score HUGE win and flip the Miami mayor’s office to blue for the first time in 25 years!
Decision Desk HQ has called the Miami mayoral race for Democrat Eileen Higgins over the Republican candidate Emilio González, in yet another major rejection of Donald Trump and the GOP brand.
USA Today reports that “Higgins, 61, is a former Miami-Dade County commissioner who wears the label ‘La Gringa.’ She served on the commission board, which represented a district that included the Cuban enclave of Little Havana, until this year. She was first elected in 2018.” Higgins is the first woman ever elected to the office.
Trump personally involved himself in the race, writing an endorsement on Truth Social in which he misspelled his own candidate’s name (of course he did), promising that Gonzalez would “NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”
“As Miami’s next Mayor, he will fight tirelessly to Grow the Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Advance MADE IN THE U.S.A., Unleash American Energy DOMINANCE, Keep our now very Secure Border, SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
But it would appear Trump’s copy-and-pasted laundry list of empty promises are falling on deaf ears. Higgins’ victory marks the latest in a slew of dominating Democratic victories as voters come out en masse to reject Donald Trump’s agenda of economic austerity, corruption, and monstrous cruelty to immigrants.
