REAKING: WTF? Kristi Noem goes full North Korea and thanks Dear Leader for…keeping hurricanes away?

During today’s obedience-displaying and shameless ass-kissing convention that the Trump team calls a “cabinet meeting,” Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem thanked Trump for keeping hurricanes away. Yes, keeping hurricanes away.

“Sir, you made it through hurricane season without a hurricane. And so FEMA — you even kept the hurricanes away! — And FEMA is deploying resources and dollars 150% faster than ever before. So somebody does have something bad that happens to them, you are immediately there helping them and telling them they have the resources to get back up on their feet.”

Clearly, Trump simply took his big black marker and drew arrows telling the hurricanes to go somewhere else! Masterfully done, Mr. President!

While the Trump administration will be quick seize on this as evidence that climate change isn’t real and also possibly that they can control the weather, the reality is that while no storms made landfall, the storms that DID form were much stronger than usual.

USA Today reports that “NOAA had forecast a 60% chance of an above-average season, with 13 to 19 named storms in the Atlantic basin. It predicted six to 10 hurricanes, and three to five major hurricanes.”

“The season wound up with 13 named storms and five hurricanes, but four major hurricanes, with winds of 111 mph or more. That’s one less named storm and two fewer hurricanes than average, but one more major hurricane than average and slightly more than average overall cyclone energy.”

So Kristi Noem was not only lying, she is misrepresenting the threat that climate-change-empowered hurricanes face to our nation.

But for her to brag that the Trump administration KEPT HURRICANES AWAY is a whole new level of humiliating bootlickery that even the North Koreans would find offensive.
