SAT . SIGNS OF HOPE: DAVE’S RECOVERY TAKES A POSITIVE TURN

There’s finally some encouraging news in Dave’s recovery journey.

Recent bloodwork shows that his white blood cell count is up — a strong sign that his body is healing and fighting back. While a few levels are still stabilizing, the overall improvement is clear, bringing a much-needed sense of relief and optimism.

Today also marked another important step, as Dave completed a CT scan. The family is now waiting for the surgeon’s review, which will determine the next course of action. At this point, two options remain on the table: continuing with physical therapy or moving forward with surgery.

Although it’s already expected that Dave will eventually need a fusion procedure, there is hope that it can be delayed. If he is able to focus on rehabilitation and physical therapy for now, it would be a major boost not only for his physical recovery but also for his mental well-being.

The past six weeks have not been easy. Dave has been confined to his home, unable to bear weight, facing the daily challenges of limited mobility. Another surgery would mean at least 8 to 12 more weeks of the same — a difficult prospect for anyone.

For now, all eyes are on the upcoming results, with hope outweighing fear.

Through it all, the outpouring of support has made a difference. Messages, prayers, and well wishes have lifted spirits during the hardest days — and they continue to mean everything.

More updates will be shared as soon as a clear plan is in place.
