SAT . ONE YEAR AFTER THE TRAGEDY – WHERE IS JUSTICE FOR AUSTIN METCALF?

Exactly one year ago, on April 2, 2025, Austin Metcalf was murdered in broad daylight — a loss that left an unhealable wound for his family and community.

But what has followed has sparked even greater outrage.

The person responsible admitted to the act. Yet he spent only 12 days in jail, had his bond reduced, received hundreds of thousands of dollars in support, was allowed to graduate, and is now reportedly attending college while on house arrest.

The question remains: Is this justice?

For many, the answer is no. It is a failure — not only of the legal system, but of moral accountability. A painful injustice that Austin’s family continues to carry every single day.

Austin deserved better. His family deserved better. And his story will not be forgotten.

Today, we remember Austin Metcalf — a life taken far too soon.

We pray for his family.
And we will keep speaking out — until true accountability is achieved.

Rest in Peace, Austin Metcalf
