TST. BIG WIN FOR WILL ROBERTS: RADIATION PHASE COMPLETE!

It’s Saturday morning, and for 15-year-old Will Roberts, a long, tough week has come to an end.
It’s time to congratulate Will, for yesterday he completed his latest phase of radiation! ![]()

Will lives outside Tuscaloosa, and for the past several days Will has traded his spring break for trips to Birmingham for immunotherapy and radiation treatments.
Will has been fighting bone cancer.
Next up? Mapping his jaw, where another radiation phase will soon begin.
Will’s mom Brittney put out a precious note yesterday before she and Will headed to Birmingham:
“Little buddy Cooper made it over last night right about the time Will’s immunotherapy side effects kicked in. Full body aches… migraine-type headache where even the light hurt his eyes.
“But like teenage boys do, he still wanted his friend there. So, Cooper camped out on the Temu couch playing on his phone and just hung out. Cooper and Brock always make the best of whatever.
Fast forward to 4:45 this morning.
“Time for the daily chemo pill.
“Waking Will for a life-saving medication should qualify for the parent Hall of Fame Award.
“I come upstairs already rushed because I’ve got to get on the road, and Will takes FOREEEEEVER to wake up. He wants to stretch… scratch… roll around… mumble… negotiate… blink one eye open… then go back to sleep.
“Meanwhile I’m over there with blood pressure rising…..
“‘Will come ON. Sit up. GET UP. WILL!!! Hurry. You can scratch after you swallow this survival pill. SIT. UP. NOW.’
“And my biggest fear is him holding this tiny, very expensive, life-saving chemo pill in his half-asleep hand and dropping it somewhere in the covers… or worse… Rebel finding it and glowing in the dark later.
“About that time Cooper pops his little head up from the couch, looks at the situation, and says…
“‘Dang Mrs. Brittney… you be giving meds like it’s an Olympic sport’.”
“I about peed myself laughing. Will started laughing enough to wake up and swallow the pill, so Cooper for the win!!
“But honestly… he’s not wrong. I sound more like Drill Sergeant Roberts on pill duty every morning.
“Today will be Will’s last round for this go at radiation. He made the decision yesterday with radiologist to go ahead and shoot for zapping his mandible (left jaw).
“Our next step will be mapping for that spot and on stand by until we get the call for it to happen.”
We once again thank Brittney for letting us in on a small slice of their hectic life.
How about we all congratulate Will for finishing his latest radiation treatment?
And thank Will’s parents Jason and Brittney, his sister Charlie and his grandma!
