A Journey Full of Courage and Hope: The Story of Will Roberts
That photo deeply moved me. It was taken yesterday morning as Will Roberts was undergoing his fourth round of immunotherapy.
Will Roberts, a 15-year-old boy from Ralph, Alabama, near Tuscaloosa, has been battling bone cancer for months. He had part of his leg amputated to cope with the pain and the fight for his life. But yesterday’s image of Will dozing off in the middle of a difficult treatment session became a symbol of strength and resilience.
Will, with a gentle smile, took a short nap in the treatment room, a place where many would feel anxious and exhausted. But Will, like a true warrior, seemed unconcerned by the difficulties surrounding him. He was accustomed to painful treatments, accustomed to facing this unforgiving disease. This was the new life Will had to face, but he maintained his optimism, still finding small moments of relaxation and respite in this challenging journey.
Will’s mother, Brittney, shared her feelings after Will’s fourth treatment session:

“Will is sleeping as if he’s just had a hot stone massage and a stunning ocean view. And I’m still in my role of providing emotional support for him!”
“We’ve gone out, and of course, he wants to stop by Bass Pro Shops. After that, we’ll go back and take Charlie to dance class. I’m sure I’ll look just like Will when I put my head on the pillow tonight!!!”
“Thank you to everyone who prayed for us every day!”
