SAT . Encouraging Update in Hunter’s Fight to Heal

There is hopeful news today in the recovery of Hunter Alexander, bringing a sense of relief to the many people following his journey.

Hunter has successfully completed another surgery and is now resting in recovery. After meeting with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Purcell, his family received encouraging updates about the progress of his healing.

Doctors report that Hunter’s left arm and hand are responding well to treatment, with strong and healthy tissue developing exactly as hoped. While one small area on his left thumb still needs more time to heal, the overall condition of his arm has improved significantly and is now getting close to being ready for the next major step — skin grafting.

One of the most encouraging signs has been the improvement in his inner wrist, where healing has progressed better than expected. For now, doctors plan to keep the wound VAC in place for another one to two weeks to continue supporting tissue growth before beginning the grafting process.

Medical teams have also noted the remarkable difference in Hunter’s condition since the introduction of Restrata treatment combined with wound VAC therapy. Compared to the earlier stages of recovery, the progress is clearly visible and gives doctors greater confidence moving forward.

There is more good news. Hunter’s right hand is healing well and showing strong tissue growth, which means skin grafting will not be necessary in that area — a major milestone in his recovery.

Hunter continues to be closely monitored in recovery as his body regains strength. Tomorrow, doctors will change the dressing on his right shoulder, and his family is hopeful to see more positive progress since treatment began.

Through every step of this difficult journey, the family has expressed deep gratitude to Lori for her dedicated wound care support and compassion throughout Hunter’s healing process.

For those following his story, the message from his family is simple: please continue the prayers for comfort, pain relief, and steady healing in the days ahead. 💙
