SO. URGENT UPDATE: BRAIN SURGERY & THE “RED DEVIL” CHEMO

Yesterday, she underwent an EKG and blood count testing. We are grateful to share that the EKG was normal. However, her blood counts remain quite low despite being off treatment for some time. As a result, her doctor contacted us to say she is reaching out to Penn State to confirm whether they still want to proceed with starting chemotherapy on Monday—cisplatin and doxorubicin (the “red devil”). We are leaving tomorrow for a four-day stay in Pennsylvania, where she will undergo brain surgery.
The plan is to begin chemotherapy at our home hospital afterward while we wait for clinical trial results, which are expected in about three weeks. Everything is moving so quickly, and it has all been overwhelming.
Over the past couple of weeks, she has developed at least five new bumps. While this is frightening, her doctor reassured us that starting the trial offers hope that the treatment will help stop and reverse the progression. After this, we expect to return to Pennsylvania for one or more months to continue treatment.
I am praying with everything in me that this works. I am scared—especially about the new bumps—but we are holding onto hope and faith. We also do not yet know if we will have a room at the Ronald McDonald House, as confirmation will not come until the day we arrive. Please keep us in your prayers and consider sharing this.
If you are able to donate to help with travel and lodging expenses, it would mean more to us than we can express. Thank you for your love, support, and continued prayers
