sat . UPDATE: HUNTER OUT OF SURGERY — DOCTORS SEE PROMISING HEALING

There is encouraging news in Hunter’s recovery.

After surgery, his orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Purcell, shared that Hunter’s left arm and hand are showing strong signs of healing. Doctors observed healthy “beefy red” tissue filling in well, an important step in the recovery process.

One small area on Hunter’s left thumb still needs more time to fully heal, but overall his left arm is progressing well and is expected to be ready for skin grafting soon.

The improvement in his left inner wrist has been especially remarkable.

For now, Hunter will continue using a wound vacuum device for another one to two weeks to help the tissue continue to grow and heal. Once that process is complete, doctors plan to begin skin grafting.

Medical staff say the progress from the Restrata treatment combined with the wound vac has been impressive. Comparing earlier photos with today’s images shows a dramatic difference.

Hunter is still in recovery following surgery, and his journey is not over yet. His right shoulder wound will have the wound vac changed tomorrow, and doctors are hopeful to see continued improvement. His right hand is also healing well and currently will not require skin grafts.

His caregivers expressed gratitude to Lori for the dedicated wound care that has supported his healing so far.

For now, Hunter remains in recovery — and his family continues to ask for prayers for healing, strength, and relief from pain. 🙏
