Lane has had a (comparatively) great 2-3 days! Does that mean his body is healed? No. That’s not even our goal.
All we ask at this point is for his comfort + happiness. Some engagement from him is always cool too.
We’re so happy we’ve seen that for a couple of days! He still throws up and has very stressful moments but that’s a part of our daily life 
As a medial momma – I am lowkey having a stroke about his swelling 
His skull sutures (which you can clearly see in the first pic) + edema have me like 
…. BUT he is comfortable and we have a wonderful nursing staff to support us so we can maintain the most normal life as possible given our circumstances. We now have nursing help 7 days/week.
For the first time in a while, probably months, I can say I authentically feel grateful. Most likely because our baby boy hasn’t required an ungodly amount of pain/sedation meds in 3 days …. Even just for a few days it feels like such a relief
OH AND HE LOST A TOOTH YESTERDAY. More on that later… I have big feelings. Losing a tooth is such a “kid” milestone that I have loveddddd experiencing with my healthy babies…. It’s kinda weird Lane’s tooth was just gone. We believe he swallowed it. No fanfare or tooth fairy.
Truly not equipped to deal with that tonight.
